30 Days of Blogging
Tuesday starts the first annual Jumping Duck Media 30 Days of Blogging Contest! It’s set to be a month of fun, frustration, and excitement, and we can’t wait to see the volumes of new content our contestants contribute.
For those of you interested in participating, here’s what you need to know:
- First, leave a message on this post so we know who you are and where your blog is
- Next, write a new post (previously unpublished content) of at least 300 words each day for 30 consecutive days in the month of December
- Since December is a 31-day month, you get one “free day.” Take a day off when you need it and this single day off will not count against your 30 days of consecutive writing
We’ll post more details about contestants’ blogs as they become available.
What you win
The question we hear the most often is, “what do I win?” In reality, completing the contest is one of the biggest prizes you can receive. Just think, 9,000 new words contributed to your blog in only a month. New posts every day. Your Google score will skyrocket and traffic to your site will increase as well. What could be better?
In reality, we do plan on giving you something if you finish. We’re still working on the official website which will cross-post your content to increase visibility and traffic. No word yet on when exactly this will be ready, but check back here for updates.
Remember, the contest starts Tuesday! Are your fingers ready to start typing?

Thanks Eric! I’ll be jumping in blogging about technology, photography, marketing, and storytelling this month. Very much looking forward to getting acquainted with all the others who are participating!
Thanks Eric! I’m following Pete’s recommendation, but instead of the “heavy” topics, I’ll devote my blog to the topic of being heavy and getting fit along with cooking and recipes designed to help that process.
My blog is about helping people find the perfect career. Will you be sending us some tips and tricks as we go through this? Some of the folks I’ve directed this way will be first time bloggers. Also, I’m hoping we will get connected with each other as well.
Thanks Eric.
My blog will detail my personal challenge in journeying: experience bliss, gather knowledge and help others.
Excited .to jump in feet first.
I’m going to try, blogging every day AND 200 words or more is a daunting task but also a great motivator. Not going to worry about the number of words so much as the frequency. Thanks for the kick in the arse.
oops it’s 300 words or more oh my the pressure! Looking forward to trying.
Count me in. I will be blogging about whats passing through my head at the moment. It might be a story, an observation, an opinion or none of the above. Looking forward to it.
My blog will include tips on education, photography and children’s storytelling. I am looking forward to connecting with people and having fun writing a blog every day!
O.K. folks. I have the next 3 days in the can and ready to roll! Sweeeeet! We can do this!
Ok, I’m going to take the challenge. I need to get back into blogging (it’s been since April that I last posted) and this seems like a good way to jump start the process. My posts will be random but I do have a list of topics to cover. I’m looking forward to this!
This is a great challenge, especially on the heels of NaNoWriMo! My blog is about using the Law of Attraction to make more sales. I need to populate it with plenty of content before I launch my ebook, so THANK YOU for presenting this timely contest!
Thanks for the push to Blog daily. (Thanks, Sean (CMS) for letting me know about this opportunity.) I publish a free, interactive job board with a few side comments called “Words of Wisdom”. My commitment will be to post jobs daily and add to the Employer List/Words of Wisdom weekly.
Good luck all!

follow along for next 30 days.
WOW! I had a huge bump in traffic yesterday. Over 100 visits! By far the biggest day ever. Thank you all for participating in this challenge. How can we work together to help each other out?
Sean
Day 4 tomorrow and each of the previous days I was sure I would have nothing to write about only to find a little something in me. Thanks for the challenge. Now all I do is come up with ideas before they are due. Please feel free to check it out at http://www.nobrain-noheadache.com
Awesome! I’m a bit late filling in the comments, but I’ve got 3 blog posts under my belt. My posts will be on a variety of subjects encouraging people, especially entrepreneurs, to take inspired action. The theme will vary each week. This week: Creating and Honoring Space…the spaces in which you sometimes find yourself, the space necessary to rejuvenate those creative juices. As I mentioned to Pete Wright (http://fifthandmain.com), this is an awesome exercise for me to “try on” new content areas. Looking forward to the ride!
